On April 10, 2012, the State Board of Education released for public comment the proposed Arkansas Department of Education Rules Governing Public Charter Schools and the Arkansas Department of Education Rules Governing the Teacher Excellence and Support Program.

A public hearing on both rules will be held on May 4, 2012, beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the ADE Auditorium, Four Capitol Mall, Little Rock.

Comments may be mailed to the Office of General Counsel: Four Capitol Mall, Room 404-A, Little Rock, AR 72201. Comments may also be emailed to ADE.RulesComments@arkansas.gov or submitted online at http://www.arkansased.org/about/rules/pending.html.

The proposed rules are attached, may be obtained from the Office of General Counsel at the address above, and are available online at the website above.

Comments on the rules will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on May 18, 2012.
