On March 28, 2012, the Commission for Arkansas Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation released for public comment proposed revisions to its Rules Governing Maintenance and Operations of Public School Buses and Physical Examinations of School Bus Drivers. The Commission released an earlier proposal on September 29, 2011, but the Commission subsequently made additional revisions which are now being released for a second public comment period.

A public hearing on the proposed rule revisions will be held on Tuesday, May 8, at 1 p.m. in the ADE Auditorium, Four Capitol Mall, Little Rock.

Comments may be mailed to the Office of General Counsel, Four Capitol Mall, Room 404-A, Little Rock, AR 72201. Comments may also be emailed to ADE.RulesComments@arkansas.gov or submitted online at http://www.arkansased.org/about/rules/pending.html.

The proposed revisions are attached, may be obtained from the Office of General Counsel at the address above, and are available online at the website above. Comments on the Rules will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on May 22, 2012.
