The Arkansas Department of Education Office of Coordinated School Health is offering a “Healthy School Board Award.” The Healthy School Board Award is a way to recognize Arkansas schools with policies and educational programs in place that promote an environment that creates healthy administration and school staff. The application must be submitted by the district school with participation of the local school board. The deadline for submitting the application is June 30.
Applying for this award will be an opportunity for the district to receive recognition for the commitment made in addressing the health needs of students and staff. The application will also serve as a valuable assessment tool to evaluate policies and standards in place and to see where modifications need to be made.
