The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) will host the 2013 Educators Career Fair Saturday, April 20, 2013, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Metroplex /Team Summit Event Center located at 10800 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.

The Educators Career Fair is designed to:

·     Assist new graduates from teacher preparation programs in securing jobs with school districts represented at the job fair

·     Recruit quality individuals with a degree in an area other than education and are ready for a career change into the teaching profession

·     Recruit quality individuals without a degree into the teaching profession

·     Assist licensed teachers wanting to add an area of licensure or earn an advanced degree


The event is for licensed teachers and administrators or new graduates licensed by August, 2013 and career changers interested in entering the teaching profession. 


Attendees may visit with Arkansas school districts, Arkansas colleges and universities, Master of Arts in Teaching program staff and Arkansas Professional Pathway to Educator Licensure (APPEL, formally Non-Traditional Licensure) staff. 

Arkansas Department of Education Educator Licensure and Special Education representatives will be present.  These programs will provide information to educators regarding advancement of careers in education. Saline County Sheriffs Reserves will also be present for fingerprinting. 

Superintendents, education service cooperative directors, principals, school district hiring personnel and college and university education preparation staff are encouraged to register as exhibitors.  Participating exhibitors will be provided individual booth space to display information and meet with prospective teachers and administrators.

Registration is free but should be done early as booth space is limited.   Registration will be on a first come, first served basis and will include breakfast and lunch for two (2) booth staffers. Electricity is available by request only. To register, visit the following website location,


Please use the attached flyer to inform teachers about the opportunities to advance education careers and prospective teachers about the opportunities to enter the teaching profession. It may be posted in common areas such as teachers’ lounges and/or copied and distributed throughout the district.
